The Power of Daily Intentions

From many sides I received learning this week on one topic - the importance of setting daily intentions.

When Brendon Burchard shared how he starts his day I understood something very important. In the morning his calendar is pretty much fixed for the day. Nevertheless every morning he spends about 20 minutes going through each point in his calendar setting the intention of how he wants to show up and what he wants to do in order to live the life he intends.

Living my life purpose is something I want to do every day. New for me is that it is less important if I have reached a specific goal as I often made it about failing or not. More important is if I was showing up the way I wanted and if I made a contribution towards what matters to me - my purpose.

Just a recall of what my life purpose is. It is more than goals – it is my navigation for life. What do I need to be able to say that it is exactly the life I wanted to live? Have I lived my best inspired me and have I been a role model for others - inspiring them to aspire more in life?

Part of the daily intentions is not only setting them in the morning, but also reflecting on them in the evening. Today I realized, why I was not keen on doing the reflection. I used it more or less to rate myself on having failed or having been successful.

I oversaw the core of it. It is not about judging. It is about the awareness. Now when look I rejoice about the moments I lived my intentions and celebrate myself. When I have blown it I also rejoice about my ability to see that and to take actions. This ability of being aware is something wonderful. Everything is able to shift to the good as soon as I manage to acknowledge what is there – being aware and allowing it to be how it is. Then change can happen in me realizing how I would like it to be. In setting the intention I send out the energy for support in this new idea. This is so different compared to being angry on myself for failing.

Making it a daily habit helps me to navigate in the wanted direction - not getting of track.

Wishing you the best life ever every day,

Nicola
